Jack Knife: The Crashing of a Policeman
NSW Police & Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Jack Knife is the story of Paul Horner’s journey as a fully operational Police Officer working at some for the busiest and hardest police stations within the State of New South Wales (NSW). Jack Knife is about Trust. It is about Loyalty. It is about Mateship. It is about Courage and Determination. It is about trusting others with your life and others trusting you with theirs. Jack Knife is an all inspiring book about, not only the NSW Police Force, but a Policeman with two arms, two legs and a heartbeat. In other words a regular human being just doing his best to serve his State the only way he knew how.

2023 Sleep Bus Fundraiser
No one deserves to be homeless - The SleepBus initiative will help give a safe night sleep to up to 20 people per night. Together with Lifehouse Care the SleepBus Fundraiser is well on the way to reaching the target goal of $100,000 to bring this hotel pod on wheels to Coffs Harbour for emergency overnight accommodation. I had the honour and privilege of being involved on the day. A very big thankyou to Doris Rake for organising the event, and to Alison Paul from NBN news for her talented MC'ing, and thank you to all attendees, bidders and donators (especially one very generous couple who donated $20,000). Lastly a personal thank you to my wonderful and very supportive wife Janie Bourne for handling the Door Entry and Raffle Ticket sales.
The event was held on Saturday the 13th of May at Coffs Surf Club Restaurant and Bar.
Wheelchair Donation
Coffs Harbour mountain bike rider, surf lifesaver, businessman, hubby and dad Michael Bourne has used a not-so-pleasant cycling accident to help others. He noticed the hospital could do with another set of wheels… a self-propelled wheelchair to be precise, so he turned to his Facebook friends for help. Having located a near-new $1500 high-end wheelchair for $300, Michael asked for donations and within three hours, hit his target. Today, Michael handed over the ultra-light wheelchair to Chief Physiotherapist Greg Ewart (in the blue shirt) where it will be …
Reachout Australia
Did you know that suicide is the leading cause of death for young people in Australia? That means that each year, more young people die by suicide than in car accidents or from cancer.
By sponsoring my participation in Laps for Life, you'll be helping ReachOut achieve its mission of ensuring that all young people have the support they need to be happy and well.
March 2021, I’m challenging myself to swim to save lives.https://www.lapsforlife.com.au/fundraiser/michaelbourne
